Membership Incentives Autumn 2018

Our current Membership Incentive can be found in Wareham Library in the shape of the ‘Nearly New Book Trolley’ with all books on sale at 90% OFF the published price, which means that you only pay 10p in the £1, and less.

All the proceeds are going to the management and maintenance of the Tree of Life & Laughter Community Garden, to the rear of the Library.

Thus far, since the summer, the ‘trolley’ has raised enough money to pay for a large storage box, now situated within the garden, and housing two donated gazebos and a selection of gardening equipment.

Volunteering for WDDT

Be a doer - VOLUNTEER FOR WDDT! Good community projects, which serve the needs of disadvantaged people or the wider community, don’t happen by themselves. They happen because a minority of people get together and do it!

Wareham and District Development Trust is here to help the community, but also needs your help! If you have skills or experience such as:

  • Fundraising (events, promotions, writing bids)

  • Property conversion (design and practical work)

  • Organising volunteers

or perhaps you would be prepared to give up a few hours occasionally to help staff a stall, do a mailing, prepare refreshments, etc? Its fun, it’s satisfying, and it puts something back into the community! Some recent research shows that the happiest people are those who do voluntary work

PLEASE CONTACT THE WDDT CHAIR AND MAKE THE TRUST AN OFFER WE CAN’T REFUSE!!!

Currently the Trust has approximately 400 full members, 20 youth members, and 20 local business members.

Registering as a member of WDDT means that you will:

Be entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting, make nominations for the Board, and participate in voting for Trustees.

Be able to volunteer your skills and time to an organisation that gets things done.

Feel part of a growing, new, and vibrant organisation, dedicated to improving services and facilities for people in its area.
